The Wheaton College women's lacrosse team advanced to the finals of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship with a 20-6 win over Framingham State in the semifinal round Saturday afternoon at Keefe Field.

Senior Caitlin Irvine (Westwood, Mass.) scored three goals to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 16-1 win over the visiting Bridgewater State University Bears in the opening round of the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament tonight on Robin Sheppard Field.

Cachelin Nets Winner in OT to Lift Bridgewater State to NEWLA Tournament Title
Freshman attack Riley Cachelin (Westwood, Mass.) scored off a free position attempt with 14 seconds remaining in overtime to lift top-seeded Bridgewater State University to a dramatic 6-5 win over number two Westfield State University in the championship game of the 2012 New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance (NEWLA) Tournament.

The New England Women’s Lacrosse Alliance has announced its post-season honors. In a vote by the conference coaches, Westfield State senior midfielder Carly Keeley was named NEWLA Offensive Player of the Year and Bridgewater's Shelby Farland was named NEWLA Defensive Player of the Year.
